Une délégation représentant les autorités portuaires et commerciales du port de Cagliari, ce port italien de la méditerranée, a été présente lors du dernier salon international de la logistique et du transport pour la Méditerranée LOGISMED qui s’est tenue à Casablanca. La rédaction de MaritimeNews a profité de cette occasion pour avoir un entretien avec Mr Franco Cupolo, General Manager Cagliari International Container Terminal.
MaritimeNews : You participate to LOGISMED, what are your objectives for the Moroccan market?
Mr Franco Cupolo: In cooperation with Cagliari Port Authority President Mr Piergiorgio Massidda, we introduced to Moroccan and the rest of Maghreb customers, the peculiarities of Cagliari port and the high value range of services we can offer them thanks to our ideal location at the centre of The Mediterranean, our “state of the art” facilities including 1,5 km of linear quay plus 16 m water depth.
MN: Contship is already present at the port of Tangier Med through Eurogate Tangier Terminal would you not be in concurrency?
F.C: Cagliari market segmentation (based on today services calling the terminal) is different from the one offered by Tangier port.
MN: What are your plans for your future development?
F.C: Thanks to the close cooperation with Cagliari Port Authority, the port is quickly capable of adapt its handling capacity from today 1.2 million Teus up to 3.6 million Teus, shall customers demand us to do so.
